House of Haunts-Soot technique

Last night was suppose to be my technique club night, but I don't think things could of gone worse!  I worked all day on getting everything together, and made sure I fed my family dinner by 5 so that I could have everything cleaned up and ready to go by 7.  Everything was going smoothly and then I hear thunder and lightning.  No, not just hear it, it shook our windows.  Next thing I know theres a loud BOOM, and our power is gone.  It's getting dark outside, but maybe I'll be able to pull this together, after all the technique calls for candles.  Anyway, long story short, I had just one friend show up, (I can't blame the other gals, I'm not sure I would of braved the drive over with the potential of a nasty storm,) so we decided we would go see the HELP instead.  (Good movie, but left me feeling kinda sad).  So, I'm posting the cards we would of done and the technique.  I guess on the upside I've got next month covered.  (You demonstrators know how much work this can be.) 

So here are the two technique cards side by side so that you can see the difference.  The one on the left is the Traditional soot stampin technique, and the one the right is Reverse soot stampin. 

On this traditional soot stampin card, I tryed for the first time ever, this ribbon technique that turned out to be so simple, I can kick myself for not trying it sooner.  I also tore the edges of a white CS and wiped the edges with Soft Suede to give it the burnt paper look.  I added some brads to the bottom and a Happy Halloween burnt look inside and there's the card.

This one is the Reverse soot stampin technique card.  On this one I added Old Olive paper that I had first crumpled up and then sponged with soft suede, and then I versa marked the Rich Razzleberry with the dots stamp just to give it a little something, added the pumpkin pie ribbon and walla. 

All of these techniques were so easy!  I loved doing them.  As always, I'd love to know what you think.
